The Parliament of Ukraine, the Verkhovna Rada, urged the parliaments of the world countries to condemn Russia's political repression against the citizens of Ukraine and assist in liberation of Crimean Tatar and Ukrainian political prisoners of the Russian Federation.

241 People's Deputies of Ukraine voted for the corresponding decision on Wednesday.
In particular, the People's Deputies ask foreign colleagues to use all possible international political, diplomatic and sanctioning mechanisms in relation to the Russian Federation with the aim of "the immediate release of all hostages, whose seizure is caused by the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine."

Also, the Verkhovna Rada requests to do everything to free Ukrainians, who are illegally detained in Russia. Among them are the Crimean Tatar and Ukrainian activists: Emir-Usein Kuku, Oleg Sentsov, Muslim Aliev, Roman Sushchenko, Nikolai Karpyuk and others.

The parliament also notes that every effort should be made to release all other illegally detained and illegally convicted citizens of Ukraine in the temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, the city of Sevastopol, certain districts of Donetsk and Luhansk regions and in the territory of the Russian Federation.
