Ukraine will host the Parliamentary Assembly of NATO in 2020, the first time,
the Vice-speaker of Verkhovna Rada Irina Herashchenko informed on her Facebook page.
"I’ve just received a message from the Chairman of our parliamentary delegation to the NATO PA, People's Deputy Irina Friz with important and wonderful news. For the first time in 2020, the NATO Parliamentary Assembly will be held in Ukraine,” she wrote.
Herashchenko further noted that this decision was made on October 9, 2017 in Bucharest (the capital of Romania).
Earlier, former Deputy Secretary General of NATO and former US Ambassador to the Russian Federation Aleksander Vershbow stated his support for the idea of Ukraine's accession to the North Atlantic Alliance
