The UN recalled the General Assembly resolution in connection with the illegal presidential election in the occupied Crimea. This was reported by the Speaker of the UN Secretary General Stéphane Dujarric.

“With regards to the situation in Crimea, the General Assembly expressed itself on several occasions, notably through resolution 68/262 on the "Territorial integrity of Ukraine" and resolution 71/205 on the "Situation of human rights in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol," he said at the daily briefing.

Dujarric stressed that the UN's position on the Crimea will not change.

“Due to null and void “elections” in Crimea, UN Spokesperson cites UNGA resolutions reiterating the territorial integrity of Ukraine and pronouncing Russia as an occupying power,” the Ukrainian Permanent Mission to the United Nations stated on Twitter.

Reference: the election of the Russian president was held on March 18. According to the CEC, the incumbent Russian President Vladimir Putin wins the elections. Many Western countries expressed their solidarity with Ukraine in the issue of non-recognition of the results of the elections in the occupied Crimea.
