UN Secretary-General António Guterres is concerned about the health of the Ukrainian political prisoner Oleg Sentsov, who has been on a hunger strike for more than 100 days, according to Stephane Dujarric, the Spokesperson for the United Nations Secretary-General.

“And I’ve been asked in the past about the filmmaker Oleh Sentsov and I can tell you that the Secretary General remains concerned about the health of Oleh Sentsov, who has now been on hunger strike for more than 100 days and is reportedly in critical condition.  The issue has been part of the Secretary General’s conversations with Russian authorities,” he noted.

Dujarhik went on saying that Guterres was sent a letter from 38 countries with a request to help in the release of the Ukrainian political prisoner.

QHA reported that the US Department of State had called on the Russian Federation to immediately release Sentsov. Press secretary of the State Department Heather Nauert said that the US authorities are concerned about the health of the Ukrainian film -maker.
