US House of Representatives approved a bill about the establishment of the committee, to stifle Russian attempts to "exert covert influence" over different countries, Associated Press reports.

A total of 390 congressmen supported the bill and 30 voted against.

The Committee will deal with the exposure of the false information spread by Russia and agents of influence.

The Committee will also investigate crimes related to corruption, violation of human rights and terrorism, perpetrated by the political representatives of the secret services or the Russian Federation.

It is expected that the bill will be put to the vote at the US Senate in late 2016.
