March 8, Special Representative of the US Department of State for Ukraine Kurt Volker said that he is in favor of imposing sanctions for visiting the Crimea annexed by Russia, Ukrinform reports.
According to him, the situation in the Crimea is identical to the one in Donbas, except for the absence of regular military operations.
Volker noted that Washington should step up measures against Russia because of the peninsula.
"I believe it's time to think about how we can make our position more rigid, including the consequences for travel, trade and business contacts with this territory," Volker said.
Earlier, Volker advocated the liquidation of the "DPR" and "LPR". He stressed that the terrorist groups should not have place in the "Ukrainian constitutional order".
