The Head of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, People's Deputy of Ukraine Refat Chubarov on the eve of 2018 congratulated the Ukrainians on the New Year.
The People's Deputy called the year 2017 "a year of challenges met with dignity."
Chubarov noted that, despite the trials that befell the Crimean Tatars and Ukrainians in the occupied Crimea, they banded together even more in their resistance against the Russian aggressors.
“2017 counts down its last hours. It will remain in the history of the temporarily occupied Crimea and the Crimean Tatar people as a year of challenges met with dignity, the indestructibility of dozens of political prisoners - Crimean Tatars and ethnic Ukrainians, it will be remembered for the courage and unity of the Crimean Tatar people, who banded together even more in resisting violence, repression and persecution brought to the Crimean land by Russian invaders," he wrote on his Facebook page.
Meanwhile, according to the information available, the Russian occupants, even on New Year's Eve, continue shelling the positions of the Ukrainian army in the Donbas.
Thus, as a result of enemy fire, one Ukrainian soldier was wounded. According to the ATO headquarters, he was taken to a military hospital where he was provided medical assistance
