February 26, a protest action against the occupation of the Crimea took place near the Russian Embassy in Vilnius, according to Adas Jakubauskas, a member of the Executive Committee of the World Congress Crimean Tatar of Lithuania.
Among the participants was the member of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania Mantas Adomėnas. The action was held within the framework of supporting the call of the Mejlis to protest outside the Russian embassy in different countries of the world.
Participants in the action were holding the national flag of the Crimean Tatars in their hands and posters: "Putin, get out of the Crimea" and "Make Peace not war".
February 26 marks 4 years from the day when many thousands of Ukrainian citizens in the Crimea took to the action in support of the territorial integrity of the country, because on the night of February 26 to February 27, "green men" appeared on the streets of Crimea.
February 26, on the Day of the Resistance of the Crimea to the Russian occupation, the news agency QHA ("Crimean News") and Radio Hayat together with "Channel 5" and "Crimea.Realii" held a marathon called "4 Years of Resistance".
Within the framework of the marathon, the rally on the Independence Square in Kyiv was broadcasted, which was organized by the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people and a number of public and human rights organizations. This is an event of solidarity in support of those Ukrainian citizens who live in the conditions of Russian occupation in the Crimea.
On this day in 2014, outside the building of the Supreme Council of Crimea, a rally was held to preserve the territorial integrity of Ukraine and prevent the adoption of decisions aimed at destabilizing the situation in the autonomy by the parliament of the ARC.
About 15 thousand Crimean Tatars, Ukrainians and Crimeans of other nationalities took part in the rally, organized by the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people.
It was on February 26 that the civil society of Crimea advocated the territorial integrity of Ukraine, not allowing Russia and its agents in the Crimea to hold an extraordinary session of the parliament in order to simulate the allegedly voluntary "transfer" of Crimea to Russia. Therefore, this day is rightfully considered the Day of Resistance of the Crimea to the Russian occupation
