Volodymyr Balukh was taken from the Simferopol detentioncentre to the temporary detention facility in the village of Razdolne to get acquainted with the materials of the criminal case, the Deputy Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Akhtem Chiygoz reported.

According to him, the Ukrainian political prisoner was taken out about four days ago. Balukh, probably returns to the jail of Simferopol today, July 23.

“Balukh was taken out to get acquainted with the case materials about four days ago. He is in the temporary detention facility in Razdolne. He has this right and was given the opportunity to use it. The investigator brings him the case materials, he reads them there. Today (July 23), he might return," Chiygoz said.

The Deputy Head of the Mejlis noted that in the Simferopol prison, Balukh is kept in a common cell despite his health condition. Chiygoz said that "Balukh still does not intend to stop his hunger strike."

The mother of the Ukrainian Balukh said that she did not intend to ask Russian President Vladimir Putin to pardon her son. According to her, asking for a pardon means admission of guilt.

It should be noted that Balukh received his term because he placed a Ukrainian flag on his house, and was soon found guilty of absurd charges, allegedly for beating the head of the detention centre in the Crimea, having received a general 5-year prison term.
