Today, July 24, within the framework of the "FIND & FREE" information campaign, the action "Birthday without celebration" was held, dedicated to the member of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Ervin Ibragimov, who recently turned 33.
According to the organizers of the action, for two years Ervin's family and friends do not know where he is.
During the action, activists installed a dining table at the entrance to the embassy, where they placed a cake with 16 candles, which symbolized the people missing in the occupied Crimea. Also, activists took turns in silence to the table and presented gifts for Ibragimov, which "nobody was to receive in the end."
The action was attended by the father of Ervin Ibragimov - Umer Ibragimov. He thanked the activists for coming to the embassy every month and demanding to find his son.
“We, unfortunately, have nothing to celebrate. Ervin has not been home for two years, two years his parents do not know where he is, for two years the public has asked the Russian authorities: "Where is Ervin?” Tamila Tasheva, coordinator of the CrimeanSOS public organization, said.
As part of the campaign, activists demanded that Russia investigate enforced disappearances on the annexed peninsula.
Earlier, the Head of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Refat Chubarov called on international organizations to take all necessary measures to effectively investigate the circumstances of Ervin Ibragimov's abduction and bring those responsible to justice.
According to Chubarov, the invaders demonstrate unwillingness to investigate this crime.
On May 27, in Kyiv, a football friendly match was held in support of Ervin Ibragimov.
