According to Anatoly Borisenko, the head of the Crimean department of the traffic police, since January 1, 2018, Crimeans, who had not changed their Ukrainian license plates for the Russian ones, are to be fined.
In his words, it refers to the cars with Ukrainian license plates which are used under the notary trust, or purchased on credit or leasing.
“January 1, 2018 is a deadline for the possibility to re-register the vehicle on legal grounds. People owning such vehicles with problematic issues have little time to deal with them,” Borisenko stated.
At the same time, he noted that there was no information about the possible extension of the deadline.
Earlier, January 24, 2017, the personnel and administration of the so-called "State Automobile Inspectorate" of occupied Sevastopol, in cooperation with the precinct officers of the local police, conducted "Numbers" preventive raid aimed at identifying vehicles that had not been re-registered in the order established by the Russian invaders.
