April 4, the "government" of the occupied Sevastopol held a closed meeting via the videoconference to discuss the landslide issue on the Sevastopol-Simferopol highway. According to the participants, the Federal Road Agency of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation Rosavtodor announced the decision to repair the Sevastopol road collapse under special control due to the vague position of local "authorities" regarding the terms and scope of work, "Primechaniya" publication reported.
Currently, no works are carried out in the landslide area, the asphalt was completely removed and geological surveys are being conducted. According to a public figure who attended the meeting on Tuesday, at this rate, Crimea can face the transport collapse in the holiday season.
"The results of the survey will be ready by the end of the week, then it will be considered by the scientific council at Rosavtodor to make the right decision, as the position of the Sevastopol government to " just cover everything with asphalt over the gravel and it will survive a season", to put it mildly, causes fear in Moscow ... Elimination of the landslide shifts with surface methods will not be possible, and the serious work will require considerably more repair time, and the price will grow as well, not to mention the transport collapse in the holiday season," the source said.
Earlier, the so-called Head of the department for Transport and Road Infrastructure of Sevastopol Igor Titov claimed that 45% of the work was carried out on the landslide section of the road in Sevastopol.
In the evening of March 9, the traffic on the section of the route Simferopol - Bakhchisarai - Sevastopol was limited due the urgent repairs after the landslide that had occurred earlier.
