Road police in the Crimea forced Crimean Tatars to remove national flags from the wedding cortege in the village of Novopavlivka in the Bakhchysarai region of the annexed Crimea, activist Elzar Abduramanova reported on her page.
According to her, the local police explained this ban by saying that allegedly "the oncoming cars do not like the flags."
The participants of the cortege were forced to submit, not to be late for the wedding ceremony - Nikah (religious registration of marriage in the mosque).
Earlier, QHA reported, that unlike the Russia-annexed Crimea, the Crimean Tatar flag was unfolded on the central square of Melitopol in the mainland Ukraine. The actions were held in honor of the 25 anniversary of the Crimean Tatar committee "Azat".
Previously, on March 31 in the Melitopol city museum of local lore an exhibition "Crimean line of fire" was opened. The exposition includes 10 portraits and life stories of Crimeans who fought in the area of the Anti-Terrorist Operation in the east of Ukraine defending the territorial integrity of the state.
