May 18 is the Day of Remembrance for the Victims of Deportation of the Crimean Tatar People. It was on this day in 1944, at four o'clock in the morning, that the deportation began under Stalin's decree. Soviet power accused the whole Crimean Tatar people in cooperation with Nazi Germany during World War II. People were given only a few minutes for gathering.

The criminal actions of the Soviet government led to mass loss of life and caused irreparable damage to the Crimean Tatar people, the development of its culture, tragically influencing its historical path.
