Prosecutor asks about 5 years of suspended imprisonment for Ali Asanov, one of the individuals involved in the contrived "case of February 26", lawyer Edem Sememlyaev informed on his Facebook page.

Two defendants in the "case of February 26" - Mustafa Degermendzhi and Ali Asanov - are tried for participation in the rally on February 26, 2014 outside the building of the Supreme Council of Crimea in support of the territorial integrity of Ukraine and rendering resistance to the Russian occupation forces.

According to the lawyer, the prosecution offers Asanov a trial period of 3 years.

Previously, on March 5, the Russian-controlled Central District Court of Simferopol satisfied the petition of the prosecutor to extend the preventive punishment for Mustafa Degermendzhi and Ali Asanov until May 7, 2018.

Earlier, the Kremlin-controlled court in occupied Simferopol postponed the hearing on the "February 26 case" because of the absence of a lawyer.
