The threat of arrest on spurious of involvement in the organization "Hizb ut-Tahrir" is a tool of intimidation of Muslims in the occupied Crimea, the lawyer of the Crimean Tatars on the peninsula Emil Kurbedinov said in an interview with "112-Ukraine".

He alleged that the Russian authorities and the Kremlin-controlled "courts" are trying to evict  representatives of indigenous people who do not accept the occupation from the Crimea.

“A specialist wrote that the meetings near the home of Marlene Mustafayev were Hizb ut-Tahrir rallies. Hizb ut-Tahrir is a horror story in Russia and for a judge it is enough. As they hear of the "Hizb ut-Tahrir", it is a guarantee of 10 days imprisonment. This is done to ideally make them all leave. This is the major element of intimidation,” the lawyer stated.

Emil Kurbedinov went on saying that the arrests of the Crimean Tatars who came to the search of the activist Marlene Mustafayev in Kamenka, is an element of the suppression to crush the Crimea residents’ will, to keep depriving those who disagree with the occupation, of any support.

“They want us just to sit at home and kept silent when our neighbors are searched.”

Previously, in the morning of February 21 it became known about another illegal search in the Crimea. At 7:30 armed men burst into the home of Crimean Tatar Marlen Mustafayev in Kamenka, Simferopol.

After some time, the activists reported on social networks about the detention of 10 or 20 people, according to different sourses, who came to support the Mustafayev family. The detainees were accused of participating in an unauthorized rally under Article 20.2, Part. 1, of the RF Code of Administrative Offences.

After the trial, which took place on the same day, Marlen Mustafayev was arrested for 11 days under the court decision, and the rest of the ten detainees were sentenced for five days of the administrative arrest.
