Last group of Meskhetian Turks (Turks Akhyska) is evacuated from dangerous areas in the East of Ukraine to the Republic of Turkey on behalf of the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and under the coordination of the Prime Minister Binali Yildirim.

This time, 99 families of Turkish immigrants, that is 534 people, arrive in the town of Uzumlu in the province of Erzincan. The first aircraft with Meskhets arrives today at 21:40, and the second is expected at 22:30. The third flight may take place tomorrow.

Mass Housing Management at the Government of Turkey (TOKİ) has built houses for new immigrants with all the necessary domestic content in the Fatih district of the same province. According to the Secretary General of the World Association of Meskhetian Turks Fuat Uçar, as of now, it is the most comprehensive and planned migration in the history of Turkey, as cited by the AA agency.

Within the framework of the government program developed by order of the President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the Meskhetian Turks are resettled from the Eastern Ukraine to Turkey. The Meskhetians were evacuated from unsafe region under the coordination of the Prime Minister of Turkey, with the support of the World Organization Akhyska Turks, the Turkish Embassy in Ukraine, the administration of the Migration Turkish General Staff, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Turkey, the Turkish Ministry of Health and Ukrainian authorities.

The first group of Meskhetian immigrants from the East of Ukraine arrived to the Republic on December 25, 2015. The first flight carried 174 people, including children. These were the families affected by the hostilities in the Slavyansk region. The resettlement of Meskhetian Turks is carried out in several stages.
