Ukrainian political prisoner Oleg Sentsov asked to publish his testament. The letter was provided to the Hromadske channel by the cousin of the political prisoner Natalia Kaplan.
Sentsov made out his will in the presence of his lawyer Dmitry Dinze.
In the letter, he named his children Alina Sentsova and Vladislav Sentsov as heirs.
Sentsov leaves screening of his works to the director Yevheniya Vradiy.
Full text of Oleg Sentsov's will:
"I, Oleg Gennadievich Sentsov, being of sound mind and body, do hereby bequeath the screening of films on my scripts, namely "Rhinos", "Kai", and also works written by me in captivity "The Glorious world", "The Crows" and "Christie" to my friend and second director Yevhenia Vradiy as video producer in the case of my death.
In case of her refusal, she has the right to choose the person to reassign the filming, as well as to choose the producer company.
I name my children Alina Sentsova and Vladislav Sentsov the successors, heirs and recipients of my fees after my death.
The testament was made out in the Penal Colony-8 of Labitnangi in the presence and assurance of my attorney Dmitry Dinze. September 7, 2018. "
Oleg Sentsov made out his will during a hunger strike, which he started demanding release of political prisoners in Russia and the annexed Crimea.
Then his cousin Natalia Kaplan informed that Oleg Sentsov had lost hope for his release. Sentsov noted that he did not know how long he would hold on, because he had hypoxia.
On August 25, 2015, the North Caucasus District Military Court sentenced Sentsov to 20 years' imprisonment in a colony of strict regime. He was accused of allegedly plotting a terrorist attack.
