The so-called "authorities" of the Russian-occupied Crimea allowed Ukrainian Ombudsman Valeria Lutkovska meet three of the 42 political prisoners held on the peninsula, Bogdan Kriklivenko, the Head of the secretariat of the Ombudsman Valeria Lutkovska, wrote on his Facebook page.

“It happened, we are in Simferopol! After 3 months, and especially hard last 2 days of negotiations we were able to get the opportunity to meet with political prisoners who are being held in the Crimea, as well as those convicted who requested a transfer to the mainland. We asked for a meeting with 42 persons and we were given the opportunity to meet with three of them, including Ahtem Chiygoz,” reads the message.

Earlier QHA reported that today, 26 December, the occupation authorities of the Crimea prevented the meeting of the Ukrainian Ombudsman, the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights Valeria Lutkovska with the Deputy Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Ahtem Chiygoz.
