The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko was suggested to disable gas and electricity in the self-proclaimed DPR and LPR . The corresponding petition was posted on the official website of the President.
“We demand to cut "DPR/ LPR" off the Ukrainian power system due to a large debt to Ukraine. Why do we, the people of Ukraine, have to bear the losses and pay for these militants / separatists unprecedented amounts?” reads the text of the petition from Eugene Prokopishin.
The author noted that Ukraine must specify in Minsk agreement that the electricity supply will be restored only after full repayment of the debt.
“We do not need those speeches about humanity like "it's our people, but there are children." We are people too, and we've got children too, but we're paying all these fees …” he stressed.
The petition stated that if this claim is not settled, the Minister of Energy and Minister of occupied territories should resign.
According to the Head the Ukrainian National Power Committee "Ukrenergo" Vsevolod Kovalchuk, currently the dept of "DPR/ LPR" to Ukrenergo for electricity is 24 billion UAH.
As of October 13 a petition signed by 320 people from 25,000 required.
