Prosecutors of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP) together with detectives of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) handed indictment to the military Prosecutor of ATO forces Konstantin Kulik, reads a message on the NABU’s website.
It is noted that the indictment, in the shortest possible time, will be send to the court for consideration on the merits.
Kulik is accused of a criminal offense under Part 2, Art. 368-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine ("Illicit enrichment").
The military Prosecutor faces 2-5 years imprisonment with disqualification to hold certain positions or to practice certain professions for up to 3 years, with confiscation of property.
The NABU has been conducting a pre-trial investigation into the illicit enrichment of Konstantin Kulik since December 2015.
The proceedings were commenced due to the acquisition of expensive real estate by Kulik during his time in the Military Prosecutor's Office. June 29, Kulik was officially reported suspected. The court chose a measure of restraint in the form of personal recognizance and he was removed from office.
