Activists from various regions of the annexed Crimea announced the creation of a new public organization "Crimean Idea".

This decision was made on May 27 at a meeting in the city of Bilohirsk.

According to the founders of the organization, the movement "Crimean Idea" will be open.

“In the process of discussing the situation in the Crimea, a decision was made to create a movement called the Crimean Idea. The movement is open and is being created with plans for its great future and a large-scale role in the public life of the peninsula," said the co-facilitator of the Crimean Contact Group for Human Rights Abdureshit Dzhepparov.

According to lawyer Mammet Mambetov, creation of a public association that would help in solving problems that the Crimean Tatars are facing on the peninsula became necessary in Crimea.

Yet the activists have not specified what exactly the activities of "Crimean Idea" movement will include.

Earlier, QHA reported that in the occupied Crimea in the city of Sudak, a police squad arrived at a meeting of the Crimean Solidarity NGO. According to the security forces, the reason for their arrival was information about the presence of weapons in the premises where the meeting of the public association was taking place. They added that the meeting was held in the "border zone" and this had to be coordinated with the so-called authorities.
