Employees of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) blocked the financing scheme of the "LPR" militants, according to
the press service of the SBU.

“Employees of the Security Service of Ukraine under the procedural direction of the prosecutor's office blocked the scheme of financing the terrorist group of the Luhansk People's Republic through a deal with the receipt of pensions by citizens from the temporarily occupied territories,” reads the report.

One of the "LPR" militants organized a manipulation scheme and engaged IDPs from Luhansk to it. He offered retirees in the Luhansk region to register and receive pensions through his facilitation.

“After withdrawing money from the cards, the courier brought it to the "LPR" to the organizer. Then the group member gave part of the amount to the pensioners, and took the rest of the money for himself and his accomplices. Approximate "profit" of intruders amounted to about 500 000 hryvnia,” the SBU states.

Law enforcers conducted searches of persons involved in the scheme in Kharkiv and Popasnaya (Luhansk region), and seized about 60 bank cards, certificates and copies of migrants' passports, as well as more than 100 thousand hryvnia and "black bookkeeping", which proves involvement in the manipulation.

On this fact, criminal proceedings under art. 258-3 and 258-5 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine were initiated.

Earlier, the employees of the Security Service of Ukraine detained the informer of the terrorist organization DPR in the Slavyansk district of the Donetsk region. Law enforcers established that a resident of one of the villages visited Gorlivka, temporarily occupied by militants, twice a month, allegedly to check the condition of the apartment that belongs to him. SBU officers documented that in this way the informer regularly transferred  information to the leader of one of the illegal armed formations of the so-called DPR. On his instructions, the source collected data on the movement, deployment of military equipment and units of the anti-terrorist operation forces near the line of demarcation
