People are protesting throughout the Crimea, Elvina Semedlyaeva, the wife of Crimean Tatar lawyer Edem Semedlyaev, reported on her Facebook page.
People went to single pickets with posters saying: "Stop the lawlessness of the Crimean law enforcement agencies," "You can't win support by force," "STOP! Arrests, searches, abductions of Muslims!", "Accusation of terrorism and extremism is the genocide of the Crimean Tatars" …
Semedlyaeva noted that several people were detained in the Crimea during the pickets.
“People are detained in Gvardeyske, Simferopol and Belogorsk. However, there is no no communication with them,” she wrote.
Pickets are held in Simferopol, Dzhankoy, Gvardeysk, Belogorsk and other cities of the occupied peninsula.
Earlier QHA reported that on October 11, occupants were massively conducting searches and detentions in the homes of Crimean Tatars in Bakhchysarai from the early morning. Near the house of Suleiman Asanov, the FSB detained his father, 62-year-old Refat Asanov, brother Elnur Asanov, a relative Ernest Ibrahimov, as well as neighbors Rudem Nedzhiev and Eldar Asanov.
The Kremlin-controlled Simferopol court has chosen a measure of restraint for all six Crimean Tatars, who were searched on October 11. The activists were arrested for two months.
The lawyer of one of the detainees said that the arrests of the Crimean Tatars were caused by the fact that the latter refused to recognize the new order in the Crimea and the annexation of the peninsula by Russia.
