November 5, the sixth meeting of the World Congress of the Crimean Tatars executive committee finished in the Ukrainian capital. Within two days, members of the executive committee and social activists had an opportunity to discuss the situation of the Crimean Tatars in the occupied Crimea, Ukraine and in the world.
Summing up the meeting, the main issue of all specified was the need to set up the information campaign in support of the WCCT executive committee member Ervin Ibragimov, kidnapped in the occupied Crimea. The symbolic campaign to collect a million signatures is to start in February next year and to finish by May 24, by the date of his disappearance.
In this regard, the Executive Committee has decided to send the appropriate handling with the attached signatures to various International institutions and organizations.
Another key issue on the agenda was strengthening the youth sector of the Congress. Autonomy of the movement was a subject of hot discussions.
On the first day of the meeting, the Head of the Kurultai Audit Commission Ali Ozenbash stated the need for independent coordination of the youth.
In particular, the leader of the Crimean civil blockade Lenur Islyamov emphasized that the task of returning and defending the homeland rests in fact on the shoulders of the young Crimean Tatars.
Chairman of the Youth Committee of the Central Office for solidarity and culture of Crimean Tatars in Turkey (Kırım Türkleri Kültür ve Yardışma Derneği) Fethi Kurtiy Şahin subsequently announced the creation of a Youth Committee to the Congress. It includes the Crimean Tatar activists from Ukraine and Turkey, in particular, co-founders of a public initiative "Crimea SOS" Tamil Tashev and Alim Aliyev, Seit-Bekir Suleymanov, Sevgil Musayev-Borovik, Aishe Memetova, Aishe Umerova, Alime Karimova, Fethi Kurtiyev and Yavusezer Alper.
In addition, the executive committee members discussed technical issues, in particular, made some adjustments to the Statute of the public organization "The World Congress of the Crimean Tatars."
