The State Border Service of Ukraine (SBS) banned the entry into the country for about 1.5 thousand foreigners because of visits to the occupied Crimea, according to the  press center of the department.

“The State Border Guard Service continues to systematically take measures to identify and bring to justice those who visited the temporarily occupied territory of the ARC, with violation of the established procedure.  From the beginning of the year only, more than 30 such persons have been identified,” the report says.

The press center noted that on January 12 at the airport "Kyiv" a Russian citizen who flew to Ukraine from Minsk was detained. During the border control it turned out that the woman had illegally visited the occupied peninsula. She was banned from entering Ukraine for three years.

“During 2017, almost 2.3 thousand administrative protocols were drawn according to Art. 204-2 of the Code of Administrative Offences for infringement of an order of entrance on temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine and departure from it. In addition, almost 1.500 decisions have been made to prohibit foreigners from entering Ukraine for such violations, including more than a hundred performers and cultural workers."

Earlier, December 20 at the airport in Zaporozhye, a Russian, who was banned from entering Ukraine for 5 years, tried to cut his veins in his arms. When a mark on the prohibition of entry was put, the Russian snatched a penknife from his hand luggage and tried to cut his arms.
