November 2, Ukrainian Ambassador to Turkey, Andriy Sibiga completed the accreditation for the new post, according to Ukrainian Diplomatic Service.
As a final step Sibiga together with representatives of the Ukrainian Diaspora in Turkey solemnly laid a wreath at the Mausoleum of the founder of the Turkish Republic Mustafa Kemal Ataturk.
“Paying tribute to the memory of Ataturk, I remember his great contribution to the development of Turkish-Ukrainian relations. His belief that the Black Sea does not separate, but brings our countries together has not lost its significance today,” Andriy Sibiga wrote in the Mausoleum’s Book of Memory.
October 28, the appointed by order of the Ukrainian President Andriy Sibiga, the Ukraine's Ambassador to Turkey, presented credentials to President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan, thereby having accredited in the country.
In August 2016, Sergiy Korsun completed his tenure as the Ambassador of Ukraine in Turkey, which he held since July 2008.
In late August of this year, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko appointed Andriy Sibiga Ambassador to Turkey. Prior to this, Andriy Sibiga served as Director of the Consular Department of the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine.
He was born in 1975 in the town of Zborov, Ternopil region. Andriy Sibiga is a graduator from Ivan Franko National University in Lviv and a specialist in international relations, English translator and a lawyer. He stated his career as diplomat in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine in 1997. He also worked in the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Poland.
