Ilmi Umerov, Deputy Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, after yesterday's meeting of the "court" stated that the criminal case against him, which is being considered in the Kremlin-controlled Simferopol district court, was fabricated, according to his message on Facebook.
“I declare that the criminal case is fabricated because of my political position, which I do not hide, and I do not recognize the jurisdiction of the Russian Federation in the Crimea, do not recognize the referendum of 2014 and the annexation of the so-called Republic of Crimea to the Russian Federation. But they can not judge for the position and the opinion. That is why this "case" was falsified and fabricated. If it is fair, it is necessary at this stage to stop the criminal case against me, and to bring an action against the investigator and expert.
Tomorrow at 14.00 the judge is expecting our proposals for an additional or new examination," he wrote.
