October 20, the FSB presented two conclusions of linguistic and forensic psychiatric examinations to Deputy Head of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Ilmi Umerov, according to his Facebook page.
“I visited with my lawyers the FSB investigator. We were immediately informed on the results of two examinations: the linguistic and forensic psychiatric. The results of both examinations are exactly the same as we expected. The linguistic expert report concludes that when speaking on air of ATR TV Channel on March 19, I called to violate the territorial integrity of Russia, and the second, the psychiatric one, says that I do not have any mental illnesses. Nothing new,” Umerov wrote.
Lawyer Emil Kurbedinov later added that the conclusion of the linguistic expertise was issued not in favor of Ilmi Umerov.
“Ilmi Umerov’s talks of the Crimean Tatar Autonomy appeared to be especially "terrible" for the expert (FSB officer)! The investigator refused to issue any copies of the documents,” Kurbedinov wrote on Facebook.
It was reported earlier that Ilmi Umerov was detained by the Russian FSB in Bakhchysarai on May12.
The criminal case against the Deputy Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Ilmi Umerov was launched at the request of the so-called Public Prosecutor’s Office of Crimea.
The prosecution alleges that in March 2016, Umerov being in the territory of Ukraine, publicly called to "violate the territorial integrity of Russia" during his live interview with ATR TV Channel.
