The First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, the Ukrainian representative in the Humanitarian Subgroup within the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) for Donbas Iryna Herashchenko demanded from ORDO representatives to exchange Crimean Tatar political prisoners for Russian criminals at the Trilateral Contact Group meeting, according to the results of the meeting in Minsk, published on Facebook.
“I made the following statement: if the RF-controlled ORDLO requires Ukraine to release 63 criminals not related to the inspired conflict in Donbas, then we demand the immediate release of all illegally detained Crimean Tatars (there are already more than 30 of them)”.
The Ukrainian side also demanded the immediate release of all political prisoners in Russian Federation, in particular, Roman Sushchenko, Mykola Karpyuk, Stanislav Klykh, Oleksandr Kolchenko, Oleg Sentsov, and others.
“ORDLO representatives scream that the Crimean Tatar political prisoners are not related to the Minsk agreements. But we have one answer: killers from Berkut have nothing to do with the Minsk agreements as well”.
Herashchenko noted that militants diminish the real number of hostages.
“Today we have not received any information about the fate of 132 hostages who are being held in the occupied territories, regarding specific people and names, despite all our requests and demands. They only told that 55 Ukrainians are being held in ORDO (without names), and 14 Ukrainians are being held in ORLO (certain areas of Luhansk region)".
The issue of the journalist, who wrote for Ukrainian publications and disappeared in Donetsk, was raised at the meeting of the contact group as well.
“We raised the issue of Stanislav Aseyev at the group for the third time in the last month (V. Medvedchuk also stressed that he had sent several requests with the demand to immediately provide information about his place of detention). So ORDO representatives cynically declared that they had no any official information about Stanislav! They said that they did not know if this person had been detained, and where he was”.
Herashchenko expressed the hope that the issue of hostages release would be the key issue after the "Normandy contact group" meeting.
