The occupation authorities of the Crimea seek to create alternate routes for the communication between the annexed peninsula and Russia. Ministry for Temporarily Occupied Territories and Internally Displaced Persons of Ukraine made a corresponding statement in its message on Facebook.
The Ministry noted that a second runway is being constructed near Sevastopol at the military airport.
“Near the city of Sevastopol, a second runway is being built at the military airfield Belbek. The construction of an additional strip may indicate the intentions of the occupying authorities to create reserve routes for communication of the peninsula with the territory of the Russian Federation.”
Reportedly, the construction of a passenger terminal at the military airport Belbek in the occupied Crimea is to begin next year. According to the so-called director of Simferopol Airport Yevgeny Plaksin, today the project of the future terminal is being developed.
