During the day of July 23, militants in the zone of the of the Joined Forces Operation, opened fire upon the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (APU) 21 times, as a result of which two Ukrainian servicemen were wounded, the press center of the JFO headquarters reported on Facebook.
“The enemy opened fire on the positions of our troops 21 times, including 3 times from weapons, which is prohibited under Minsk agreements. As a result of hostilities two of our servicemen were wounded," reads the report.
Militants opened fire on Ukrainian positions near the settlements of Krymske, Mayorsk, Avdiivka, Mariinka, Lebedynske, Hnutove, Talakivka, Pavlopil, Vodyane and Shyrokine.
“The invaders near Krymske and Lebedynske shelled the positions of the Joined Forces from 82-mm mortars, and from a 120-mm mortar near Talakivka.”
Four militants were injured during the day, the JFO headquarters noted.
Earlier, information emerged about over 120 illegal prisons created by the militants in the occupied Donbas where Ukrainian soldiers and civilians are held and tortured in inhuman conditions. In most cases, places of detention were not adapted to living and not heated, prisoners were forced there to do hard physical work in unsanitary condition.
