The Russian frigate Admiral Essen and the submarine Krasnodar launched four cruise missiles Caliber from the Mediterranean Sea on the positions of the Islamic State terrorist group in the Palmyra area in Syria, according to Independent publication, citing the Russian Ministry of Defense.
It is noted that "Krasnodar" carried out the launch from underwater position, and all four missiles hit targets.
The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation stated that the command of Turkey, the United States and Israel had been informed of the attacks.
Previously, Russian troops and joined troops of Bashar Assad took control of Palmyra in the spring of 2016, and in the autumn of the same year, terrorists knocked them out of the city.
Earlier, QHA reported that a coalition led by the United States of America launched air attack on a column of Syrian militants supporting the President of the repressive regime in Syria Bashar al-Assad.
