The Russian government has allocated part of the water area of the Taganrog Bay in the Sea of Azov for the use of the RF Ministry of Defense for a period of 20 years.
The corresponding order was published on the official portal of legal information of the Russian Federation.
Thus, the Russian military were provided with the area of 21,626 square kilometers for use.
“The use of part of the Taganrog Bay of the Azov Sea is exclusively to ensure the country's defense and state security, excluding the possibility of using the water object by legal entities or individuals for other purposes (including recreation, fishing and aquaculture (fish farming),” reads the order.
Earlier, it was reported that by the end of 2018, a naval base for the Ukrainian Navy is to be created in the Azov Sea. In Berdyansk, two naval gunships were launched. The goal is to create conditions for repulsing Russian aggression in the region.
