Russia began the process of reducing its military presence in the temporarily occupied territories of the Donbas in the east of Ukraine, according to Deputy Minister for Temporary Occupied Territories and Internally Displaced Persons Yuri Grymchak, the Apostrof edition reported.
He further noted that Russia is gradually withdrawing its weapons from the Donbas, and started with the particularly valuable items.
“For example, the EWs - the electronic warfare complexes. I also received information that they began to withdraw counter-battery systems. The ones produced in Russia, like those Americans supplied to us. The Russian army has few of them. It is quite a scarce weapon and very expensive. We also had information that the Russians had began to take out their UAVs,” Grymchak said.
He went on saying that the Russian Federation would cease financing certain regions of Donetsk and Luhansk regions the next year.
