In the area of the Joined Forces Operation, 24 attacks on the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine by militants were recorded over the day of September 4, the press service of the JFO headquarters reported on Facebook.
“Over the past day, September 4, the situation in the area of the Joined Forces Operation has become more tense, but was completely controlled. The Russian invaders opened fire at the positions of our troops 24 times. The enemy did not use the weapon forbidden by the Minsk accords."
The terrorists were firing the Ukrainian positions from grenade launchers of various systems, large-caliber machine guns, and small arms. The shelling was carried out near the settlements of Shchastya, Trokhizbenka, Krymske, Mayorsk, Novhorodske, Peski, Krasnohorivka, Marinka, Bohdanivka, Hnutove, Lebedynske, Vodiane, Shyrokine.
The headquarters of the Joined Forces Operation further noted that over the day, one militant was liquidated and two others were wounded.
Earlier, the Principal Deputy Chief Monitor of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine Alexander Hug noted that after the announcement of a "school truce" on August 29, the number of shelling was reduced, but did not stop. Two days after the start of the ceasefire, the mission recorded nearly four hundred violations.
