Compared with the previous reporting period, the SMM notes a decrease in the number of violations of the ceasefire in Donetsk and Luhansk regions, the mission report says.
In particular, the Mission recorded about 50 explosions in the Donetsk region, including those in the Svitlodarsk area - 36 explosions of uncertain origin, as well as about 50 bursts of small arms
In the Luhansk region, only three explosions have been recorded - in the vicinity of the town of Popasnaya and in the vicinity of Stanytsia Luhanska.
Observers also reported that representatives of the DPR did not allow a mission patrol to the Siedove settlement (33 km north-east of Mariupol), which is controlled by militants, declaring the settlement was "a border area with a special entry-exit status."
“At the checkpoint of Siedove, three armed men in military-style attire approached the SMM and, while refusing to identify themselves, demanded in an aggressive manner that the SMM leave the area. The SMM departed the checkpoint and informed the JCCC,” reads the SMM report.
Furthermore, in uncontrolled areas of Ukraine, the Mission, as before, noted the absence of nine multiple-launch rocket systems (MLRS, BM-21 Grad, 122 mm) and one T-64 tank.
Earlier QHA reported that since early 2017 and as of May 25, the OSCE SMM had confirmed 225 cases of civilian casualties on both sides of the contact line in the Donbas, of which 44 were dead and 181 wounded.
