Tomorrow, on March 29, Turkish ships will enter the port of Odesa as part of the annual exercises Deniz Yıldızı-2018 ("Sea star -2018"), according to statement at the Turkish Embassy in Ukraine.

The exercise of Deniz Yıldızı-2018 is conducted by the Turkish Fleet Command with the participation of representatives of the Command of the Navy, the Air Force and the Coast Guard Command from March 26 to April 5 in the Marble and Black Seas.

"The objectives of the naval exercises are to improve the operational capabilities and capabilities of the forces participating in the exercises, and to contribute to the support of maritime security in the Black Sea," the embassy said.

Reportedly, practical exercises will be conducted by naval forces for naval targets.

Frigates TCG SALİHREİS (F-246) and TCG BÜYÜKADA (F-512) will enter the Odesa port and stay there until April 2.

Within the framework of calling at the port, Turkish ships together with the Ukrainian Navy will conduct joint exercises. And the commanders of the Turkish ships will pay a visit to the Head of the Odesa region.

Note that the frigates TCG SALİHREİS (F-246) and TCG BÜYÜKADA (F-512) will be open for visiting to local residents from March 30 to 1 April from 10:00 to 12:00 and from 14:00 to 17:00.

Earlier, the naval aviation of the Navy of the Armed Forces of Ukraine conducted a joint exercise in the Black Sea with the US Navy, in which USS Carney (DDG 64) took part. The aim of the exercises was to develop cooperation in accordance with NATO standards and increase the level of combat training.
