KYIV (QHA) -

The Armed Forces of Ukraine took control of settlements near Toretsk in Donetsk region, the coordinator of the Information Resistance group Dmitry Tymchuk reported on Facebook.

According to him, as a result of carefully planned operation, a security ring was created around the town of Toretsk.

Tymchuk noted that the operation was conducted by units of the 24th brigade of the Armed Forces, jointly with a company of long-range reconnaissance of a separate reconnaissance battalion.

“A security ring was created around Toretsk and a buffer zone was formed around the Mayorsk checkpoint. The settlement of Shumy came under the full control of the Joined forces along with its suburban array, as well as the route along the water pipe and the suburban array of the village of Shakhty 6-7. In total, more than ten square kilometers of the territory of the so-called "gray zone" were taken under control.”

Tymchuk stressed that the operation was quite unexpected for the militants - at night the Ukrainian troops occupied the newly equipped positions of the Russian-occupation forces, which they had taken to shell the Ukrainian military and civilians.

During the operation, the militants resisted and attampted to recapture some positions, as a result of which the junior sergeant of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Dmitry Ukrainsky was killed.

Earlier Tymchuk told that the fighters of terrorist groups ORDLO continued to form the so-called "mobilization reserve" and massively check data among the male population at the age of 18 to 55 years in the occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions. According to him, the population is being told about "criminal liability for evading military service."
