The information has been announced during a meeting of the Lutsk Budget Commission on June 23, reported IA Volyn News.

The Committee members supported a number of changes to the budget, including the allocation of UAH 47 000 for the festival of the Crimean Tatar culture.

However, according to the IA Volyn News, the program of cultural activities, approved by the session, has no mention of this event. Therefore, the Department of Culture must work out the changes to the program and submit them to the session on the eve of the voting for the funds allocation.

The initiators of the event, the representatives of the NGO " Volyn Crimean Tatars ", say that the festival in the city of Lutsk targets showing the unity of the Crimean Tatars and Ukrainians during the Russia’s occupation of Ukraine, as well as wants to draw attention to the problems of the Crimean Tatars and Ukrainians living in occupied Crimea since they have no opportunity to openly express their stance.
