HSBC, one of the largest financial conglomerates, has published its vision for the development of the global economy in a report titled "World in 2050."

In accordance with the report, Turkey, in 2050, could become the twelfth largest country in the world in terms of economic potential. The Republic may well leave behind such countries as Russia, South Korea, the Netherlands, Argentina, Spain, Australia and Sweden by the specified year.

Among the main criteria the HSBC followed while preparing its analysis - the level of employment, the number of the working population, the aging rate and the total workforce in the country. In Turkey, as stated in the study, the number of working-age population is rising with the increase in the birth rate.
