(QHA) -

The Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov believes that the transition to payments in dollars between Russia and Belarus, which was previously agreed between two countries, will not be effective.

Commenting the situation to the Russian newspaper "Kommersant", he said “if all the payments are changed to dollars, it will appear that Belarus has to pay from its foreign exchange reserves”.

The announcement comes days after Belarusian President Alexander announced he wanted to trade with Russia in hard currency.

Belarusian ruble lost 30% of its value in one day on 19, December.

The Russian ruble has been repeatedly updating its absolute minimum after OPEC's decision not to cut down oil production, which accelerated the downward trend for oil prices.
