Poland will extend Ukraine a EUR 1 billion loan, said the Ukrainian President after a meeting with his Polish counterpart Andrzej Duda in Kiev.

“Ms Gontareva, Head of Ukraine’s National Bank, and Mr Belka, Head of Poland’s National Bank, held talks today resulting in a deal being reached, of which she notified me, on extending a PLZ 4 billion (EUR 1 billion) loan. This will undoubtedly boost trade ties between Ukraine and Poland,” said Poroshenko.

Poroshenko went on to say that Poland would also extend Ukraine a EUR 100 million loan for building joint border checkpoints.
