Sevastopol ranked last but one, taking 99th place in terms of wages compared to the large cities of the neighboring Russia, according to the RIA Novosti rating.

So, the average salary of Sevastopol is 25.7 thousand rubles (about 385 USD).

Below Sevastopol, in this rating, is only the Russian city of Shakhty (Rostov region), which residents earn an average of 24.91 thousand rubles (about 373 USD) a month.

The five cities with lowest salaries included also the capitals of the republics of the North Caucasus of Russia: Nalchik (25.96 thousand rubles per month), Makhachkala (27.89 thousand rubles), Cherkessk (25.20 thousand rubles).

Meanwhile, the highest salaries were recorded in Moscow (73, 812 thousand rubles - about 1106 USD), as well as Salekhard, Surgut, Khanty-Mansiysk and Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk.
In addition, the occupied Sevastopol, in comparison with Russian cities, was in the second last place in terms of the purchasing power of the population.

The highest purchasing power is recorded in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. In the first half of 2018, for the average salary in the city, it was possible to purchase 3.58 fixed sets of goods and services (the list of goods and services most frequently consumed by the population).

In Sevastopol, this ratio is 1.41. This means that the average Sevastopol has enough money to buy the most necessary, but it is very difficult for the people to save money or make expensive purchases.

Next come the capitals of several Caucasian republics: Nalchik, Makhachkala and Cherkessk.

The Kremlin-controlled Territorial body of Federal Statistics service in Crimea Krymstat reported, that real money incomes of residents of occupied Sevastopol in the summer decreased by 11.5%.
