“The EU should help Ukraine set up a fund to incentivize government employees,” said Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk.

“We need help with rooting out corruption. For this we will have to set up a fund to incentivize prosecutors, judges, government employees and custom officers. These are the people who will actually be responsible for implementing reforms, so they will have to be immune from corruption,”said Yatsenyuk at the International Anticorruption Conference in Kiev.

According to Yatsenyuk, it is impossible to stamp out corruption in Ukraine if government employees get paid a monthly salary of USD 100.

In September, Groisman suggested increasing lawmakers’ monthly salary which, according to him, currently stands at UAH 5 thousand. He noted that paying law salaries to government employees ‘causes million or billion losses to the wellbeing of our country’.
