In the Dzhankoy, Sovetsky and Krasnoperekopsky districts of Crimea, the Asian migratory locusts attacked almost a thousand hectares of agricultural crops, according to the press service of the Kremlin-controlled Crimean Ministry of Agriculture.

"Minister" Andrey Ryumshin stated:

“Specialists of the branch of the federal state budget institution "Rosselhoztsentr" [Russian Agricultural Center – Ed.] in the Republic of Crimea surveyed an area of 1,817 hectares of state-owned land in Dzhankoy, Sovetsk and Krasnoperekopsky districts to identify larvae of Asian migratory locusts. The average number of pests was 59 larvae per square meter. The maximum amount of locusts, namely 310 larvae per square, was found on an area of 85 hectares in the Soviet district.”
It is also noted that the larvae were discovered on an area of about 900 hectares.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture, the situation is most disastrous in the Soviet region: locust larvae were found throughout the surveyed area of 300 hectares near the village of Prisivashne.

Note that the Asian locust harms the field, garden, garden, forest, vegetable, melons, berries and various technical crops.

Earlier, at the end of May, the occupied peninsula predicted the threat of the Asian migratory locust spreading.
