Vladimir Parasyuk, a Ukrainian MP, reported seeing an unidentified man throw something looking like a grenade at him. Parasyuk sustained no injuries because a car standing nearby took the full force of the blast. The accident occurred in Kiev on March 30, reports UNIAN.

“Three vehicles were damaged in the blast that occurred in Kiev’s Lesi Ukrainki Street. There were no human casualties,” a police spokesperson said.

According to Deputy Chief of Ukraine’s National Police Vadim Troyan, he talked to Parasyuk after the accident and he told him he was OK.

“Police are doing their best trying to find the attacker,” Troyan said.

If caught, the assailant will be charged with attempted assassination of a political or public figure pursuant to Article 112 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
