RF has escalated a disinformation campaign since the annexation of Crimea, the NATO spokesperson Oana Lungescu reported, as cited by Reuters.
According to the report, a special website, which NATO launched in 2014, has registered 32 Russian myths about the Alliance. They are regularly used in the materials by Sputnik, RT, and a number of other Russian media.
Recently the life.ru website published a fabricated voice recording presented as a telephone call of NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg with a Russian prankster pretending to be Ukraine President Petro Poroshenko.
Lungesku stressed that such a call never took place and this was an obvious example of disinformation.
Earlier QHA reported that October 21the European Parliament in the first reading considered a draft resolution on countering propaganda of Russia and the terrorist group "Islamic State."
