The conflict between the Ukrainian military and representatives of the Crimean Tatar battalion "Asker" which broke out in the village Chongar on the night of February 12-13, is exhausted, the Head of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Refat Chubarov wrote on Facebook.

According to him, the incident between the military occurred due to the fact that "the decision to establish separate Crimean Tatar National Guard military unit as part of the Ukrainian Armed Forces took unreasonably long time."

“Young people (and not very young as well) in the public organization "Asker" conducted military training, facilitated border guard and customs services of Ukraine on check points "Chongar", "Chaplynka" and "Kalanchak" in control over the movement of people and vehicles between the mainland Ukraine and the temporarily occupied Crimea. At the same time, permanent civilian control by the public association "Asker" was not actually convenient for both services,” Chubarov wrote.

According to the Head of the Mejlis, "Asker" members became undesirable for shady dealers who established illegal business at the administrative border.

“Of course, they were the parties seeking to oust "Asker" beyond the places of dislocation they occupied,” he said.

Chubarov stressed that the bad thing about the conflict between the "Asker" and the Armed Forces of Ukraine is that some of the soldiers resorted to fictional versions, directed against the Crimean Tatars.

“We will vigorously resist such actions,” Chubarov assured.

Leaders of the Mejlis of Crimean Tatar people and decision-makers are in a constant interaction with the Heads of relevant ministries, services and departments.
