The trial of Ukrainian MP Nadezhda Savchenko , suspected of murdering Russian journalists in Donbass, will be held behind closed doors today.

It was announced by the judges that the today’s hearing would involve the parties to the case. To ensure security of the trial’s participants, access to the court building will be restricted.

Following a hearing held in Moscow on August 27, the court ruled that Nadezhda Savchenko, who is charged with murdering Russian journalists and illegally crossing Ukraine-Russia border, be further kept in custody. Savchenko herself denies any wrongdoing.

In a yesterday’s interview to the Independent and Washington Post, Ukrainian President Pyotr Poroshenko refused to exchange Savchenko, as well Oleg Sentsov and Alexander Kolchenko, two other Ukrainians convicted by a Russian court, for the Russian servicemen held up in eastern Ukraine.
